Weekend Wonders!

So my weekend was actually fabulous! It all started on Friday evening.....I took my World Religions final online and got 29 out of 30. I was pretty excited about that since I wasn't really into that class and it wasn't my favorite. But nonetheless, I got an A on the final and am now done with that class FOREVER! Woo hoo! After my final is where the real weekend adventures begin. It all started by me going to one of my best friend's, Jenny's, house....we spent an hour or so just chatting and catching up on life, since we hadn't done that in a while. Then, we decided we should go to the mall and get some Christmas shopping done! Of course it was a blast and resulted in some fun pictures.....
We tried on some funky glasses at Claire's. After looking at this picture, I kind of like them and am thinking about purchasing a pair to have around! They are definitely fun! But we also  found.............
Earmuffs!!!
These are kind of weird to have in Mesa, Arizona, where there is no snow, but nonetheless they were warm and kind of cute to wear out on a cold night! I was just amazed because I have never tried them on before or even seen them, for that matter! I guess that comes with not really having a need for them. Anyways, taking these pictures at the mall was fun.....until of course it had to be ruined by someone saying, "Excuse me, we don't allow pictures with the merchandise." Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. But wait......the night gets even better!

When we left the mall, we decided to stop by QT to get some hot chocolate because it was freezing outside. Well, when we pulled up there were these two cars parked next to us that had the windows down and music playing. On the sidewalk by the cars there was like four or five guys dancing and being crazy. Of course they talked to us as we were walking into QT, but I don't really remember what they said. Then as we passed them again on the way to my car one of the boys gave us high fives and asked for our numbers....mad tv style- "Can I have yo numba? Can I have it?" Of course we just got in my car and drove away laughing hysterically. Seriously.....some people are so weird, but at least they provided us some entertainment.

The rest of the night was spent with visiting I haven't seen for a while at Bahama Bucks and then another hour of chatting and catching up at Jenny's house.....you can never do that enough! It was just grand!

My Saturday night was just as wonderful! As I was driving home from work that afternoon....I decided I really wanted to go to the movies. I wanted to see the movie, The Lovely Bones; however, later I realized that it doesn't come out until Christmas. But, I still really wanted to go to the movies...and then I remembered the new Disney princess movie, The Princess and the Frog, was out! So my brother, Kiel, and I went to see it. I was a little hesitant to see it at first because I absolutely love the original Disney princess movies- Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid....pretty much all the classics. So I thought that a new Disney Princess movie couldn't compete with the originals and would just turn out dumb.......but boy was I wrong. This movie was absolutely fabulous! It was completely different than all the other princess movies, but that's what caused me to like it so much. It's not the classic fairytale. I mean of course there is always the "happily ever after" ending, like in every Disney movie, but the plot leading up to it was so different. I highly recommend this movie to everyone! In fact, I want to see it again. It is so hilarious and teaches a lot of good messages. It is very touching and left me a little teary-eyed. Ah! I just love it! Definitely one of my new favorite movies!

After the movie, we went to one of our favorite places, Papa Kelsey's, to eat! It is tradition that every time Kiel comes down to visit from Flagstaff we always go to Papa Kelsey's and split a meatball sub! So we had to keep up the tradition! Then afterwards I just came home and worked on my Sunday School lesson!

So those were the fun events of my weekend! My Sunday was also very very very good, which is not unusual since it is my favorite day of the week! The morning was very busy with our usual presidency meeting and then followed by a welfare meeting. But I must say I always enjoy both of those meetings so I never having a problem going to them! Church was also fabulous today! It was our branch conference so I got to hear wonderful messages from our stake President. The only thing that was not so good was that I had to teach Sunday school! Let me rephrase that.....it was fabulous having the opportunity to prepare the lesson, as I learned a lot from doing it, but actually giving the lesson was not so great. I always get so nervous and everything becomes jumbled...and of course that had to happen today even though I felt completely prepared. It didn't help either that like no one participated and it was a lesson where much participation was needed. So in the end, it ended up being short and I'm not really sure if anyone got anything out of it! But, at least I learned a lot while I was planning it, so that was really good!

All in all, it was a very wonderful weekend! It was a perfect way to end one week and start another! I am now looking forward to a fun-filled week and all the fun activities leading up to CHRISTMAS!! Ah! I can't wait!

  2. I wasn't planning on seeing the new Disney movie until it came out on DVD, but you have me thinking differently!

I love Papa Kelsey's! I love their italian sub. That's a great tradition that you and Kiel have.

Sounds like you know how to have a great weekend. ♥
