I have officially been a graduate student for just over a week and let me tell you.....I. LOVE. it!
Seriously.
I am doing an Early Childhood Education program through ASU.
My whole program is online, aside from the internships and student teaching I have to do to become a certified teacher.
For the first time in a while, I actually enjoy doing my homework assignments and reading my textbook, and already thinking of ways it will be helpful in my career path.
Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed my bachelor's program in Family and Human Development.
I had some great times, awesome professors, and learned a lot.
The problem: I really didn't have a plan of what I wanted to do, which meant I was taking classes for personal knowledge and not job application.
There was nothing wrong with that, but now as I am working on my master's with the goal to teach, it makes it easier to see how what I am learning will be helpful.
Another plus is that I am working at an elementary school again. Kindercare was just not working out for me, so I found my way back to Guerrero as an aide.
I get to work in various classrooms all day every day and I just love it!
I am blessed with the opportunity to learn from various teachers and to teach small groups.
I just love it!!
If I had to sum up my life as a grad student right now in one word, it would be: Wonderful.
Life is simply wonderful!
